YVES GUGGER
I design digital products that feel inevitable—
the kind people reach for without thinking.
LET'S MAKE IT
AWARD-WINNING.
"Whatever you do—make it award-winning." That's what I tell every team I work with. Not because we're chasing trophies. Because it changes how you think. It's a filter: would I be proud of this when it ships?
I'm a designer who started as a mechanical engineer. Gears and load calculations before wireframes and user flows. That background never left—I still think in systems, in how parts connect, in where things break under pressure.
Today I help companies build digital products that work the way people expect them to. Sometimes that means launching something new. Sometimes it means fixing what's there. Always it means finding the simplest path to something real.

HOW I WORK.
The shape changes with each project. The principles don't.
Discover
Understand what matters
Every project starts with listening. Not just to requirements—to the fears, the hopes, the things people don't say out loud.
- Stakeholder interviews
- User research
- Problem framing
Design
Explore before committing
I try multiple directions before betting on one. Wireframes, prototypes, testing with real people. The goal is to fail early and cheap.
- Wireframing
- Prototyping
- User testing
Deliver
Make it real
Design isn't done until it's built. I work alongside developers to ensure what ships matches what we imagined—or better.
- Dev handoff
- Design QA
- Launch support
Iterate
Learn and improve
Launch is the beginning, not the end. Analytics, user feedback, small fixes that compound. The work keeps evolving.
- Analytics
- User feedback
- Continuous improvement
PROJECTS.
Things I've designed and built. Each started with a problem I couldn't stop thinking about.
CAREER.
The path wasn't linear. Each stop taught me something about building things that work—and working with people who care.
Oepfelbaum
ConsultantHelping enterprise teams figure out where AI actually makes sense—and where it doesn't. Strategy sessions, implementation support, the messy work of making new tools stick.
VibeCon
Co-FounderStarted a monthly meetup in Zurich for people building with AI. Practitioners sharing what's working and what isn't. No hype, just honest conversation.
GenTwo
Head of InnovationLed product at a FinTech company turning complex financial instruments into digital experiences. The goal was always: make the complicated feel simple.
Adnovum
Senior UX DesignerSeven years designing mission-critical applications for government and enterprise. Security contexts, compliance requirements, real consequences for getting it wrong. Two Gold awards.
ZHdK
Master of ArtsInteraction Design with a focus on complex adaptive systems. The thesis was about how systems behave when you can't predict all the variables.
TOOLS.
I move between design tools and code. The line between them keeps getting thinner.

AWARDS.
I don't work for awards, but it's nice when good work gets recognized.
Gold · Design
The jury liked how we balanced brand consistency with usability. The real win was seeing fewer confused users.
Gold · User Experience
We redesigned the complete user journey. Support tickets dropped 35%—that mattered more than the trophy.
